My name is Katalin Tellis, I’m a native Hungarian speaker. I have more than 15 years of experience in translations from English and Polish languages to Hungarian language.

I have Master’s degrees in both Hungarian Philology and Polish Philology from the Péter Pázmány Catholic University, Hungary. During my studies, I have had the opportunity to improve my skills and widen my knowledge abroad, mainly in the Netherlands and Poland. After successfully completing my university studies I started to work at the University of St. Andrews (United Kingdom), followed by Universiteit van Amsterdam (NL) and then entered the corporate workspace gaining experience at several multinational companies in the United Arab Emirates and Poland including securing an internship at the Sejm Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej (Polish Parliament).

Other than my focus on language translations, I also gained notable experience in teaching the Hungarian language to foreigners, writing articles for magazines, as well as proofreading and editing tasks, and qualifying as a licensed tour guide (in English, German and Polish).

I like to learn about new trends in marketing and explore sustainable solutions.

Marketing, content management and editing

As the number of companies expanding their products and services outside their home country grows, I have increasingly received several marketing related translations as well as editorial, copywriting and proofreading tasks for different social media channels and publishing houses.

These types of translations are different from ordinary assignments because the task is much more than just using accurate wordings: the translator should be creative, able to edit texts, and able to adjust to the needs of the target group in a given country.

I have several years of experience as a journalist, so I am able to prepare creative materials (guided or independently) in different areas of interest. I regularly publish self-authored articles in several magazines and blogs, proofread and edit magazines, and prepare books for printing. These types of assignments are my favourites because they require additional effort and new, creative ideas.
